The (Un)Common Ginger

I am not particularly fond of this plant, but it does well down here whether in shade, sun or partial sun it seems. And it self-propagates, so it works great for filling in areas you want to cover. Like an ugly facade, in my case.

The variegated variety is arguably a bit more interesting , as it lends color and contrast to your landscape. But they can get gangly and messy looking. I chop my down periodically and it’s not long before new growth fills out the area.

But here’s what I mean about just being struck dumb by how beautiful and amazing the plants here are. Look at the incredible blossoms it puts forth!
